March to Silver, March to Million - A fund-raising for ASMSI & FACFI!

Project: Fund-raising for ASMSI's Bayanihan Fund and FACFI
Theme: March to Silver, March to Million
Time frame: March 14 – August 15, 2011 (End of the 25th Anniversary of the Sisters of Mary - Philippines)
 
Objectives:
1. To raise fund of one million or more for the Alumni Association's Bayanihan Fund and for the Fr. Al's Children Foundation, Inc. (FACFI) - the funding arm of the Sisters of Mary in the Philippines
2. To heighten awareness of the spirit of brotherhood/sisterhood
3. To help the alumni have a sense of connection to the School and its mission

Rationale:
The Alumni of the Sisters of Mary were taught the value of Christian charity and, themselves, were recipients of generosity of benefactors. After twenty five (25) years, it is about time that graduates, numbering around forty thousand plus, show reciprocity and appreciation of the good things this institution did for them.

Process:
1. Graduates will be asked to contribute twenty five (25) pesos . It will be symbolic of the blessed twenty five years of existence of The Sisters of Mary Congregation in the Philippines.
2. Existing local Alumni Association will be tapped to help facilitate collection of contribution.
3. FAMILY SYSTEM can be utilized to ensure that every graduate will be able to contribute.

What is FAMILY SYSTEM?
It is a system that will be used to make sure that even the graduates who will not be able to give contribution will be remembered. All graduates belonged to a certain family saint while inside the school. Each family has an average member of 40 students. There are graduates who cannot contribute because of whatever situation they are in. On the other hand, there are also graduates who are now experiencing blessings of good life. Out of generosity, affluent members of the family can shoulder the contribution of their dorm mates who do not have capacity to pay. A blessed member can even pay for the contribution of the entire family or clusters of family. For one family, it only costs one thousand pesos.

On March 14 & August 15, 2010 - a donation box for this purpose will be set-up at the entrance gate and at the alumni office.

We have extended the duration of this campaign so that graduates will have ample time to know and get involved. It will now be until August 15, 2011.

ASMSI will donate half of the collected funds (for this initiative) to FACFI on August 15, 2011 as a gift to The Sisters of Mary and half of which will go the ASMSI Bayanihan Fund for the benefit of our brothers and sisters in need of financial help.
